Sinn Féin’s Mickey Brady and Megan Fearon MLA have today welcomed the progress made in opening the new Meigh Doctor’s Surgery.
Sinn Féin MLA for the area, Megan Fearon, welcomed the progress made to open the surgery:
“The completion of the new facility has been a long coming, and the Sinn Féin team in the area has overcome significant obstacles and delays to deliver a new doctor’s surgery.
“Through canvasses, public meetings, and engagement with local health authorities, this is the culmination of many years of hard work and engagement that will transform local healthcare provision for thousands in the Slieve Gullion area.
“The health facilities in this constituency must be fit for purpose, and Sinn Féin will continue to deliver investment in our critical public services, while ensuring that our local community has unfettered access to the first-class healthcare they deserve.
Speaking in advance of the formal opening of Meigh surgery, Mickey Brady said:
“For many years Sinn Féin in Newry & Armagh have been working tirelessly to open this surgery for the people of South Armagh. The opening of this modern, accessible and high-quality facility will mark a turning point for local GP services.
“Despite ongoing and savage attacks on our public services from a Tory government in London, and their partners in austerity, the DUP, Sinn Féin continues to defend and invest in our local community while delivering public services for all.”
