Newry & Armagh MP has praised the great effort of John Dalzell and his support team after it was revealed that John, who the Sinn Féin MP describes as Newry’s “Black Santa” had raised over £78,000 in his annual sit out in the run up to Christmas.
Micky said that Johns annual Sit Out campaign “has become part and parcel” of Christmas celebrations in the locality.
“John is a man that we all have a great respect for. His Christmas sit out has become part and parcel of our Christmas celebrations. Mickey continued “I am proud to call him a friend and I cannot praise John, his family and all those involved with the annual sit out enough.
The MP added: “John is our own “Black Santa”. He and his dedicated Sit-Out team are an incredible example of the spirit of giving and what generosity from people, over £78,000 raised for the Southern Area Hospice.”
